Authorities in Bucks County, Pa., say the man killed in a fireworks explosion in eastern Pennsylvania on Saturday worked for Zambelli International in New Castle.
The man has been identified as 19-year-old David Allen Walker. Conflicting reports list him as from West Middlesex and from Pulaski Township in Lawrence County. Zambelli spokesmen have not been returning phone calls to media outlets.
According to The Morning Call of Allentown, police Cpl. Scott Fogel said one of the fireworks misfired at about 9:45 p.m. at Quakertown’s Memorial Park and debris struck the man in the neck and chest. Firefighters gave him first aid, but he was pronounced dead at St. Luke’s Hospital-Quartertown.
Police Chief Scott McElree said authorities immediately stopped the show and evacuated part of the park. Fogel said about 10,000 people were at the event.
