While reading the Aug. 14 article about housing proposed in Hermitage, I was shocked at the response of Jim Gibson. Not all low-income people do drugs.
“It’s inevitable,” he said. “They will be there. Assuming this goes through, the drug problem is going to go up and crime will follow.”
What about the two incidents at the high school within a week? Was it because of low-income people?
I live on a fixed income, Does Mr. Gibson think that makes all of the senior citizens on low incomes users of drugs? I don’t do any of them.
Alcohol is a drug. How many of those are out there needing a home to live in and who might be low-income?
I have to agree with Mary Ann Paul of Transfer. I wouldn’t want to live in a place like that where they are afraid of low-income people.
