We, the members of his family, held the first annual David Veverka Memorial Golf Scramble at Hickory VFW Golf Course on Sept. 23. We would like to thank all those companies, golfers, friends and family members of Mercer and Crawford counties who helped us over the past few months to prepare for this event.
Even though it was a rainy morning, no one seemed to mind as they were there to support us in our efforts to raise money for our scholarship fund.
We would especially like to thank John O’Rourke at the golf course for his advice, assistance and patience with al of us as we planned this event.
The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Lori Sherman for her planning, diligence and persistence which made the golf scramble a success.
We hope to see everyone next year at the scramble which will be held on David’s birthday, Sept. 15.
