Here’s another example of Sharon’s own song-and-dance Mayor Bob Lucas.
I have a property in Sharon that for three years has had a barricade and board in the front yard over the storm drain. It took four phone calls at the beginning of last summer to the mayor’s office and the street department just to find out who was responsible to get it fixed.
Nobody seems to know who is to do what with the storm drains around the city. It finally came down that the storm drains are under the mayor’s department.
Then the dance really started. I was to be put at the top of the list in June of last year. In July I was told by the mayor’s office that I was on the schedule to have it fixed. In October the street department people were laid off for the winter.
I started calling the mayor’s office in February this year and then he was in the process of hiring people back. In March I was told the material to fix the drain was on order. Since then all I can get is his voice mail, but no return calls. After driving around Sharon and seeing numerous other storm drains with barricades and boards over them, I guess I could still be at the top of his dance card.

We citizens of the United States, and I say “united” loosely, are whistling past the cemetery at midnight afraid of what might be lurking in the cemetery. I don’t know what is wrong with people allowing politicians to destroy our country. - Letters to the editor
