Eleanor L. Lininger, 47 Collins Drive, West Salem Township, passed away at 2:58 a.m. Saturday (11-21-09) in the emergency room of UPMC Horizon, Greenville. She was 83.
Mrs. Lininger was born Sept. 4, 1926, in Greenville to Robert and Caroline Cullinan Landfried.
She was a 1944 graduate of the former St. Michael’s High School, Greenville.
Eleanor was previously employed for 10 years as an associate trust officer at First National Bank in Greenville.
A homemaker, she was a member of St. Michael’s Church in Greenville.
For many years, Eleanor enjoyed walking, riding horses, water skiing and traveling with her husband, Joe J. Lininger, whom she married on June 29, 1951. He survives at home.
Also surviving are: two daughters, Tracy J. Lininger, Sharon; and Tammy J. Hause and her husband Lenny, Greenville; a brother, Donald Landfried, Leeper, Pa.; and two grandchildren, Neil Alabran and Mackenzie Hause.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert “Red” Landfried and Raymond Landfried.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael’s School Endowment Fund, 85 N. High St., Greenville, PA 16125.
