Samuel “Sam” E. Turner, a resident for 12 years of 668 E. Gilmore Road, Wolf Creek Township, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, in his residence. He was 43.
Mr. Turner was born Aug. 31, 1966, in Grove City to Norman E. and Virginia L. Montgomery Turner.
Sam was a graduate of Grove City High School class of 1984 and an alumnus of Pittsburgh Technical Institute.
He was formerly employed as a CAD operator by Babcock and Wilcox, Barberton, Ohio.
Sam was of the Protestant faith. He was an artist; his passion was for drawing.
Surviving are: his father and mother, Norman and Virginia Turner, Grove City; four sisters, Virginia Y. “Gini” Smalley and her husband Ed, Gold Canyon, Ariz.; Myrna L. Miller and her husband Jerry; and Jan A. Richardson and her husband Arthur, all Grove City; and Twila J. Rowland and her husband Keith, New Castle; a brother, Charles M. Turner and his wife Brenda, Reynolds, Ill.; 11 nieces and nephews; and three great-nieces and -nephews.
Sam was preceded in death by his grandparents and a nephew, Nathan Smalley.

Service: Funeral services at 1 p.m. Monday (11-23-09) in the funeral home with the Rev. Boyd Smith, pastor of West Unity Community Church, Harrisville, officiating.
Interment: Union Home Cemetery, Wolf Creek Township.
