Ralph C. Bostaph of 2041 Madison St., Hermitage, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, in the residence of his son and daughter-in-law, on Roemer Boulevard in Farrell. He was 84.
Mr. Bostaph was born Nov. 23, 1924, in Crown, Forest County, to John C. and Helen Culp Bostaph.
He retired May 1, 1985, from the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp., where he was a coil winder and mounter.
As an Army veteran, Mr. Bostaph served in the Korean conflict and was a life member and past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6233, West Middlesex.
Ralph was a life member of West Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department and belonged to the Military Order of the Cooties and the ATVentures.
He liked to watch game shows and enjoyed times spent with his neighbors, camping and his two dogs, but most of all, with his family.
His first wife, the former Mildred J. Barris, passed away in 1949. His second wife, the former Imogene Mae “Jean” Crispin, whom he married July 6, 1953, passed away July 29, 2005.
Surviving are: a daughter, Gayla M. Rhodes and her husband Robert, Mercer; two sons, Ralph V. Bostaph and his wife Brenda, Farrell; and Douglas J. Bostaph and his wife Cherie, West Middlesex; and seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Besides his first and second wives, Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Anthony, Francis and Leonard Bostaph; and five sisters, Margaret and Grace Bostaph, Lena Hess, Helen Flick and Elizabeth Snyder.
