Doris J. Fabry

Grove City Medical Center retiree was homemaker

Doris J. Fabry, of Orchard Manor, Pine Township, formerly of 705 Tidball Ave., Grove City, went to be with her Savior at 3:47 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, after a lengthy illness. She was 76.

Mrs. Fabry was born March 5, 1933, in Wesley, Venango County, to Harry Addison Miller and Lois S. Shoup Miller.

She was a homemaker and retired from Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, where she worked in the dietary department for 21 years.

Doris was of the Protestant faith.

She was a 1949 graduate of the former Wesley High School where she was a high honor student and then Grove City High School in 1950.

Doris enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling, reading and spending time with her family.

Her second husband, Augustine “Gus” Fabry, whom she married Nov. 13, 1974, survives in Grove City. She was formerly married to the late Harry Como.

Besides her second husband, surviving are three children, Richard H. Como; Lori A. Udy and husband Brett; and Lisa K. Alessio, all Grove City; and 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Besides her first husband, Doris was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Randy L. Como and an infant; a grandson, Clinton D. Udy; and a brother, Francis “Burdette” Miller.

Calling hours: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday (11-6-09) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Service: Funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday (11-7-09) in the funeral home with the Rev. Jeffrey M. Harter, chaplain of Family Hospice and Palliative Care, Hermitage, officiating.

Interment: Crestview Memorial Park Inc., Pine Township.
