Ellsworth E. Williamson, 745 Greenville Road, Coolspring Township, formerly of Stoneboro and Sharpsville, died at 3 a.m. Sunday (11-1-09) in the hospital at Sharon Regional Health System after an illness. He was 81.
Born on Aug. 22, 1928, in New Vernon Township, Mr. Williamson was a son of William F. and Mabel S. Maxwell Williamson.
He attended country school in New Vernon Township.
Ellsworth worked at MCAR of Hermitage for more than 28 years in the furniture refinishing shop, a job which he loved very much.
He was of the Protestant faith.
Ellsworth was a part of the Stoneboro community for most of his life and was an icon of the town. He was always out and about, often hanging out at Sanford’s Drug Store.
Mr. Williamson was a longtime active member of Stoneboro Volunteer Fire Company, and for many years he was a regular at working bingo and many other projects. In 1980, he was bestowed the title of honorary fireman by the fire company for his dedicated service.
Ellsworth had many friends and was a friend to all.
Survivors include: three sisters, Betty DeJulia, Sharpsville; Ethel Williamson, Stoneboro; and Martha Lucas, Grove City; two brothers, Robert Williamson, Sharpsville, and Lester Williamson, Petrolia, Butler County; and a special niece, Mabel Crawford, Polk.
Besides his parents, Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by two sisters, Clara Weaver and Sara Perrine, and a brother, J. Allen Williamson.

Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake Township.
