Aurora F. Carnino

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — Aurora F. Carnino, formerly of Brookfield, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, in Omni Manor, Austintown. She was 84.

Mrs. Carnino was born on Oct. 5, 1925, in Sharon to Nicholas A. and Florence Albu Crishon.

She was a 1942 graduate of Hickory High School, Hermitage, and was a graduate of the former Shenango Valley Commercial School in Sharon.

Mrs. Carnino worked as a clerk for the Trumbull County Eastern District Court for more than 23 years.

She was a member of the Brookfield-Masury Women’s Club, the Brookfield Garden Club and the Sharon/Hickory Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association.

Aurora was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Vienna, where she had been a former member of the Altar and Rosary societies.

She married Louis M. Carnino on June 14, 1947, with whom she shared more than 24 years of marriage. He died on July 21, 1971.

Mrs. Carnino is survived by: her four daughters, Karyn S. Carnino, Piqua, Ohio; Christine L. Kijowski and her husband James, Hubbard; Janine M. Carnino, Jacksonville, Fla.; and Jonnah F. Hetzel and her husband Gary, Cortland, Ohio; a sister, Dolores Idomir, Austin, Texas; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Carnino was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, George Crishon and Romuel Crishon; and three sisters, Clementine Burton, Marie Roscoe and Olympia Choban.

As an expression of sympathy, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.

Services: Closing prayers will begin at 8:45 a.m. Monday (11-2-09) in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, Vienna, with the Rev. Frank Zanni, Monsignor William Connell and the Rev. Richard Whetstone as concelebrants.

Burial: St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Hermitage.
