Everett Bostrom of 242 McClelland Road, Findley Township, passed away at 6:33 p.m. Wednesday (10-28-09) in his residence. He was 87.
Mr. Bostrom was born April 9, 1922, in St. Louis to David and Minnie Piel Bostrom.
He served in the Naval Reserve and was a World War II veteran.
A graduate of Duke University, Durham, N.C., Mr. Bostrom earned a second degree in fine arts from Platt University.
After World War II, he lived in New York City and owned Sleepy Hollow Book Shop. He moved to Mercer in 1968 and for 20 years owned The Card Shoppe, retiring in 1988.
Mr. Bostrom was a volunteer for Grove City Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of Mercer Chamber of Commerce.
He received his Master Gardener degree from Penn State University and was a charter member of the Mercer Garden Club, serving as its former treasurer and the editor and publisher of its newsletter. He was active in the Master Gardeners organization.
Mr. Bostrom was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.
