A memorial service will be held Friday for Vivienne E. Shaffer Marenchin-Wiles, formerly of Sharpsville. She passed away at 9:40 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, in O’Brien Memorial Nursing Home, Masury. She was 85.
Mrs. Marenchin-Wiles was born April 4, 1924, in Sharon to Howard and Gertrude Forbes Shaffer.
Vivienne graduated in 1943 from Farrell High School.
She worked as a teletypist for Western Union and the credit bureau, both Sharon. During her time at Western Union, she was employed at the 1968 Republican Convention in Miami and the Democratic Convention in Chicago.
She enjoyed playing cards, solving crossword puzzles, traveling, dancing and listening to her son Geoffrey sing. Vivienne was a great cook.
Her first husband, George Marenchin, and her second husband, Harry Wiles, are deceased.
Surviving are: four sons, Rodney Marenchin and his wife Ellen, Naples, Fla.; Geoffrey Marenchin; and Stasey Marenchin and his wife Kelly, all Hermitage; and David George Marenchin, Costa Mesa, Calif.; and her twin sister, Violette Fleming and her husband William, Lehigh Acres, Fla.
Besides her first and second husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, June Johnson and Beverly Van Pelt.

Burial: Cremation took place in JOHN FLYNN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY Inc., 2630 E. State St., Hermitage.
