A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday for Theresa “Tessie” Lindway of 940 Wengler Ave., Sharon. She died on Tuesday afternoon (10-27-09) in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was 82.
Mrs. Lindway was born Feb. 17, 1927, in Erie to Anthony and Susan Verdoni Bonito, both of whom are deceased.
A graduate of Wesleyville (Pa.) High School Class of 1945, she earned a bachelor of science degree in education from Slippery Rock University and completed graduate studies at the University of Southern California and the University of Florida at Coral Gables.
Tessie retired from Farrell Area School District after 15 years of service as a health and physical education teacher in the high school.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Sharon. Among her pastimes were shopping, walking and reading.
On Aug. 18, 1956, she married her husband, Edward J. Lindway, who preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 2006.
Surviving are: two daughters, Tina Marie Parrish, Sharon; and Jeanne Dach and her husband Timothy, Casper, Wyo.; two sons, Ronald Edward Lindway, Sharon; and Michael Anthony Lindway and his wife Wendy, Niskayuna, N.Y.; and three brothers, Carmen Bonito and his wife Alice, Waterford, Pa.; Anthony Bonito and his wife Tabby; and Joseph Bonito and his wife Sandy, all Port Huron, Mich.
She also leaves seven grandchildren, Kyle Lynn, Kody Lynn, Kevin Lane and Kory Lane Parrish; Matthew John and Joshua Edward Dach; and Maggie Lindway.
Tessie was beloved through the years by her students at Farrell High School and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Besides her husband, Tessie was preceded in death by her parents.

Interment: Cremation following the Mass with cremains interred at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Hermitage.
