Curtis Eugene McFarland

Shenango Twp. resident retired from Sawhill

Curtis Eugene McFarland of 179 Grange Road, Shenango Township, passed away at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, in his residence. He was 74.

Mr. McFarland was born May 1, 1935, in West Middlesex to Raymond F. and Helen Jeanette Clark McFarland.

He attended school in West Middlesex and retired in 1999 from the former Sawhill Tubular Co., where he was a crane operator.

Curtis served in the Army and was of the Presbyterian faith.

Surviving are: four brothers, James H. McFarland, New Wilmington; Charles R. McFarland, Warren, Ohio; William E. McFarland, Brookfield; and Phillip A. McFarland, New Wilmington; a sister, Elizabeth Wilkes, Perrysville, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday (10-29-09) in SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 3126 Main St., West Middlesex.

Service: Funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Friday (10-30-09) in the funeral home with the Rev. Ron Royalty, pastor of Gospel Baptist Church, Poland, Ohio, officiating.

Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
