Newspaper carrier liked to watch TV, go shopping




Herta “Helen” Pascale, 1041 S. Park Dr., Brookfield, passed away unexpectedly at 12:32 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 75.

Helen was born Feb. 26, 1935 in Augsburg, Germany, a daughter of the late Johnna and Elyssa Schneider Speilberger.

She was educated in Germany and immigrated to the United States in the late 1950s.

Helen was a loyal and dedicated employee of The Herald for the past 15 years. She loved her job delivering the newspaper and will be remembered by her many customers as a warm and caring individual. She and her husband previously delivered The Vindicator newspaper of Youngstown, Ohio, for ten years.

Helen, who was of the Protestant faith, lived a simple life and enjoyed watching television and shopping.

Her husband, Sabadino “Sam” Pascale, whom she married Nov. 10, 1972, passed away March 11, 1997.

Surviving are: her son, Augustine “Augie” Pascale, at home; two grandchildren, Alyssa Brant and Bradley Long; two sisters, Arna and Hanna, and a nephew, Harald, all Germany; and a longtime special friend, Esther Keeley, Brookfield.
