Mr. and Mrs. James Harper of Mercer announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Jeanne, to Marshall Brian Nych, son of John and Charlene Nych of West Middlesex.
Miss Harper graduated from Mercer High School and Grove City College with degrees in elementary and early childhood education. She earned a master’s degree in reading from Westminster College, New Wilmington. She is a reading specialist at Mercer Elementary School.
Her fiance graduated from West Middlesex High School and Slippery Rock University with a major in elementary education and a minor in exceptionalities. He expects to graduate with a master’s degree in environmental education from SRU in May. He teaches second grade at Mercer Elementary School.
The couple became engaged in the Green Mountains of Vermont on June 27, 2008. An August 2009 wedding is planned.
