MERCER COUNTY —
Is your nephew gifted on the 12-string guitar? Has your niece developed her own comic book? Do you know a teenager who’s training to breathe fire?
The Herald is looking for talented young people to feature.
The Young Artist Spotlight will be an occasional series focusing on youth involved in the creative arts in the Mercer County area. We need your help to find these great kids.
We want to hear about youth who sing, dance, paint, play an instrument, write music or poems or do anything else that can be considered an art form. Unique interests like metalsmithing, cooking or even elaborate hairstyling or nail art.
Letters have gone out to area high school principals and arts teachers but nominees don’t have to be enrolled in a class to be considered.
For more information, contact Herald Staff Writer Courtney L. Saylor at 724-981-6100 ext. 252 or csaylor@sharonherald.com.
Fill out a nomination form that can be found at www.sharonherald.com. If you have more to say about your talented teen feel free to attach another sheet to the nomination form.
If selected, The Herald will contact you and the nominee to set up interviews and arrange for photographs for the piece.
We hope this will be an ongoing project, so there’s no deadline to submit names. We’re eager to learn about the exciting things area kids are doing.
