SUGAR GROVE TOWNSHIP — Anderson Coach and Travel, Sugar Grove Township, is helping spread the word about the United Way with the agency’s message posted on a company bus.
The bus, which was unveiled Thursday at Anderson’s headquarters, has been wrapped with the United Way’s motto, Live United, and photos of Anderson staff members.
The “rolling billboard” shows the company’s support of the United Way, especially United Way of Mercer County, according to a news release.
The bus will travel about 80,000 miles over the next year, taking sight-seers to popular destinations like Branson, Mo.; Myrtle Beach, S.C; Washington; Nashville, Tenn.; Gettysburg, Pa.; New York City; Toronto; and Orlando, Fla.
In 2008, Anderson’s worked with the state of Pennsylvania, Visit Pittsburgh and other agencies to help attract travelers to the state. The company wrapped 14 buses and got great responses from the agencies and public for the unique idea, Sue Anderson Nicklin, vice president of Anderson, said.
“As a result of the success of these campaigns, we decided that what better way to get the word out about United Way than to wrap a bus. We at Anderson are very proud to support such a great cause that helps so many Americans,” she said.
Anderson has been an enthusiastic supporter of the United Way of Mercer County, said Jim Micsky, the agency’s executive director.
“We are thrilled that this national United Way message originates from our region. Maybe others will be encouraged to live united when they see this special bus,” he said.
