Fundraisers

• A spaghetti dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Shenango Valley Masonic Lodge 810, U.S. Route 62 and Neshannock Road, Hermitage. Dinner includes spaghetti and meatballs, salad, drink and dessert.

Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children younger than age 12.

• St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, 65 S. Keel Ridge Road, Hermitage, is taking orders for: pogacha, $3.50; nut rolls, $10; apple strudel, $7; sugar doughnuts $7 a dozen and $3.50 for half a dozen. Orders are to be picked up at noon Dec. 23 at the church.

• New Year’s Eve spaghetti dinner will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 31 in memory of Sam DeAngelo Sr. at Clarks Mills United Methodist Church, 3813 Hadley Road, Clarks Mills.

Dinner will be followed with an evening with The Keelings in the sanctuary at 7:30 p.m. A love offering will be taken for the Keelings. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit Lakeview Helping Hammers. The event is sponsored by Lakeview Area Ministerium.



Holiday events

• The Hermitage Historical Society will finish tours of its Eighth Annual Festival of Trees Christmas Tour from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Visitors will get a look at the Stewart House on 5465 E. State St., Hermitage, and the 22 Christmas trees on display there. Refreshments served; donations accepted. This year’s theme is “An Old-Fashioned Christmas.” Info: 724-981-4843.

• Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 100 Penn Ave., Mercer, will hold the third annual cookie walk from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday in Gallagher Hall.

Purchase homemade holiday cookies at $4 per dozen. Fresh homemade soups will be sold to enjoy while people “walk” for cookies. Soup also sold in take home quantities.

• The Mercer County Chapter of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) will hold a Christmas party at 6 p.m. Dec. 17 at the Community Counseling Center, 2201 E. State Street, Hermitage.

There will be games with small prizes and a pot luck supper. NAMI will provide soft drinks and ham. Please bring your favorite side dish.

Meeting

• Brookfield Senior Group “Over the Hill Gang” meets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 18 at the fire hall on state Route 7 in Brookfield. Entertainment will be the West Middlesex “Nightingales & Men of Notes.” Lunch will be available for $3. There will be bingo, cards and more. All seniors welcome.



Lessons

• Buhl Community Recreational Center will hold registrations for cheerleading and piano lessons from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Dori Yes will take pre-registrations for adult line dancing classes to be held Jan. 6 through Feb. 10.
