Food warehouse fundraiser is Wednesday
SHARON — The Wave Italian Restaurant on East State Street in downtown Sharon, is sponsoring a fundraiser for the Community Food Warehouse from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the restaurant.
Proceeds benefit the Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County.
Cost is $20 and includes a buffet, desserts and door prizes.

SRU flutists in concert salute history
The Slippery Rock University Flute Choir, Chamber Flutes and two student flute quartets, directed by Stacey Steele, assistant professor of music, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Swope Recital Hall.
The SRU flutists will surround the audience as they play and will be accompanied by an African drum. Tickets are $3, general public; free for SRU students.
Find ‘Living Gifts’ at Mercer holiday concert
Mercer Living Gifts Market, featuring Heifer International, will be available from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in the lobby of Mercer High School when the elementary band and chorus perform their 7 p.m. seasonal concert at the high school.
Sponsored by Trinity Presbyterian Church, the market allows those looking for meaningful Christmas gifts to donate money in someone’s name to purchase sheep, chickens, livestock, seeds or training for a family in need.
The markets will include live animals, fun activities, DVDs about Heifer projects, and catalogs. Free gift cards will be given to buyers to explain the program to recipients concerning the gift made in their name.
