• Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department serves a stuffed pork chop or stuffed chicken breast dinner at 4 p.m. Dec. 5 in the municipal building, 7407 Lamor Road.

• St. Vincent United Methodist Women are taking orders for their fourth annual Christmas cookie and candy and fudge sale until Nov. 30. To order, call 814-786-7671.
Orders are to be picked up between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Dec. 5 at the church, Walnut Street in Jackson Center, or pick out cookies at the church Dec. 5.
• St. Vincent United Methodist Church, Walnut Street, Jackson Center, will hold a hunter’s breakfast from 5 to 7 a.m. Nov. 30.
Menu includes eggs, pancakes, home fries, bacon, sausage, toast and beverage for $7 and fill a Thermos for $2.
A hunter’s chili dinner will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. that day. Meal includes homemade chili, bread, slice of pie and beverage. Cost for adults is $7 and children younger than age 10, $3. Chili will also be sold by the quart for $4.

• Women of the Sharon High School class of 1946 gather for a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 2 in Jess’s restaurant, Hermitage.
• Nancy Ollinger-Thiess will lead a book discussion at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Mercer Area Library on “The Secret Between Us” by Barbara Delinsky.

Holiday events
• Christmas celebration for children at the Children’s Aid Society, 350 W. Market St., Mercer, is set for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 3 and 4.
Holiday baked goods and punch will greet guests at the 19th century building decorated for the Christmas season.
Preorder live poinsettias and fresh evergreen wreaths, door swags and white pine roping by Nov. 27. A few extra will be available Dec. 3-4.
Homemade rolls, breads, pies, cookies and candy and a special silent auction will be held.

• Christmas Magic & Light Up Night in Sandy Lake is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 4 in the downtown business district area. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive at the borough building by horse and wagon at 6 p.m.
There will be free horse and wagon rides, live reindeer, live music provided by Lakeview High School Band and other music, live Christmas characters and more.
Winners of the annual home-decorating contest will be announced Dec. 21. Three prizes will be awarded.
A Christmas coloring contest will be held with cash prizes awarded in each of three age categories.
• Hermitage Historical Society holds its Eighth Annual Festival of Trees Christmas Tour from 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 28 and 29 and Dec. 5, 6, 12 and 13; and 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 4 and 11 in the Stewart House, 5465 E. State St.
Enjoy more than 20 trees decorated in this year’s theme “An Old- Fashioned Christmas.”
• Woodland Place invites the public to celebrate its Fifth Annual Festival of Lights on Dec. 4. A spaghetti dinner will be served from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Lighting of the Christmas tree and displays presented by Kiser Kuntry Christmas are at 7 p.m.
Entertainment will be provided by local high school choirs and bands.
There will be pictures with Santa, a 50/50 raffle and more.
Tickets for the spaghetti dinner are $6 for adults and $3 for children and can be purchased in advance or at the door. Takeouts available.
Seminar
• Health Link Services presents Diane Waugh of Waugh Consulting from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 2 at Grove Manor in Grove City.
She will present a seminar “Managing Challenging Behaviors Including Falls.” She gives a different perspective and provides an exciting seminar. Seating is limited.
