Piscataway Nation performance is Friday
SHARON — Mercer County’s Penn State Shenango campus will celebrate Native American History Month with a Piscataway Indian Nation performance at 6 p.m. Friday. The group was formed more than 30 years ago and is nationally renowned for their living-history program which is performed in museums, colleges and universities nationwide.
The performance features theatrical song, dance and drum acts that focus on educating audiences about the culture, history and present-day issues of Native Americans. Piscataway Indian Nation has performed all over the world and has appeared in movies such as “Dances with Wolves.” The free performance will take place at the Penn State Shenango Auditorium, 147 Shenango Ave., in Sharon. Cedar Point auditions set in Akron
SANDUSKY, Ohio — Cedar Point is searching for talented entertainers, technicians and DJs to fill more than 100 positions in the park’s Live Entertainment Division for the 2010 summer season.
Representatives from the Sandusky, Ohio, amusement park/resort will be holding open auditions and interviews from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in Akron in Studio 194 of Guzzetta Hall New Addition/Lower Level at the University of Akron.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by May to audition. Each audition piece should be limited to 16-32 bars. Applicants should select music that is upbeat and illustrates their personality and ability to interact with audience members. Interested applicants should bring a one-page resume with references to the audition. Reporting dates run from late April to early September.
