Campaign under way to repair Blue Streak
CONNEAUT LAKE — The trustees of Conneaut Lake Park are mounting a campaign to get the historic and much-loved Blue Streak coaster back on track.
The goal is to raise $125,000, and secure donations can be made online. In June, the park is co-hosting the American Coaster Enthusiasts national convention. The trustees say temporary repairs have to come off and be replaced and reworked with care and precision to restore and preserve this rare wooden beauty.
These funds will be separate from the general operating funds of Conneaut Lake Park. Funds exceeding the needs for restoration will be escrowed for future work on the Blue Streak.
