Fundraisers
• The Tri-State Country Music Association will hold a benefit for Corie Roseski on Sunday at the Masonic hall in Grove City. Doors open at 1 p.m.
Ten-year-old Corie has Rett’s Syndrome.
There will be Chinese and silent auctions, raffles, live music and food for sale.
Some of the items up for auction will be an autographed picture from the Pittsburgh Steelers, handmade quilt, a beef quarter, Pittsburgh Penguins items, tickets for the Scrappers, Splash Lagoon, Erie Zoo and PBR, plus many beautiful baskets and local gift certificates.
Cost is $3 a person.

• Hermitage Rotary Club, in partnership with Hickory Veterans of Foreign Wars, will hold the Third Annual “Soup”er Bowl’ from 5:30 to 7:30 tonight at the VFW, East State Street in Hermitage.
Sample different wedding soups from local restaurants and vote for your favorite to win the People’s Choice Award. Proceeds fund community organizations and student scholarships.
Cost is $10 for adults; $5 for children, and free for children younger than age 5. Tickets: At the door, from participating restaurants, or at 724-301-8070.
Meetings
• Pymatuning Joint High School class of 1953 meets for lunch at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Carini Restaurant, Hermitage.
All classmates, spouses and guests are welcome. The class meets the second Wednesday of each month at Carini’s.
• The Civic League of Wilmington Township, Mercer County will hold its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16 at the township building, 35 Auction Road. Harry Schmeider, president of the Bluebird Society of Pennsylvania, will speak.
• Nancy Ollinger-Thiess will critique the life of Fanny Crosby, a blind poet and hymn composer, at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the senior center in the community building at Brandy Springs Park, Mercer. Nancy will have small brochures of Fanny’s familiar hymns for the group to sing or read.
There are card and table games, puzzles, bridge club and line dancing for all from 8 to 11. Lunch is at noon and cost $3. If you wish to stay for lunch, call 724-662-1349.
• The Democrat Women of Mercer County meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Shenango Valley Senior Center, North Buhl Farm Drive, Hermitage.
Guest speaker will be Tina Mengine, chief of staff for Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper. Among topics on the agenda, are final preparations for the group’s March 24 fundraiser, “Spuds and Suds” dinner and auction. Guests are welcome.
