* Maurice K. Goddard State Park public meeting will be held in conjunction with Friends of Goddard meeting at 6:30 p.m. March 23 in the auditorium of McKeever Environmental Learning Center, 55 McKeever Lane, near Sandy Lake. The meeting will begin with a general discussion regarding park operations, completed projects, and upcoming programs and end with an opportunity for public input and questions, as well as a short presentation by members of FROG discussing its history, accomplishments, and opportunities for new membership. * The Millbank Cemetery Association, Fredonia, will hold an annual public meeting at 7 p.m. March 26 at the Lions Den. Members are urged to attend. Clean-up day is set for April 4; please remove all outdated articles by then.
* Former W.T. Grant employees, retirees and friends will meet at 1 p.m. March 26 at Denny’s restaurant, Hermitage.
SPECIAL EVENTS
* The first spring Community Clothes Closet at Central Christian Church will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.
All clothes are free and there is no limit on the amount that can be taken. Donations may be dropped off between 9 a.m. and noon Tuesday through Thursday. Central Christian Church is across from Handyman Hardware.
FUNDRAISERS
• The United Methodist cluster of churches are taking orders from 4 to 6 p.m. today3/16/09, at First United Methodist Church, 237 W. Silver St., Sharon, for the March 21 Angel Food Ministries food distribution. Food can be picked up from 9 and 11 a.m. March 21. You should bring a small box, laundry basket or cooler in which to put your food. The cost of the basic food unit is $30 and the cost of the senior box is $28. This must be paid in cash, money order or food stamps. No checks will be accepted.
• The Grove City Women’s Club will take orders for delicious frozen pies through March 23. Fruit pies being offered are apple, walnut caramel, cherry, peach, berry and pecan. Cream pies being offered are lemon meringue, coconut creme and chocolate, plus pumpkin rolls. All are $8.50 each. Orders are to be picked up from 4 to 6 p.m. April 9 at the Snow Goose Inn. • The Grove City Women’s Club sponsors a scrap book crop from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the cafeteria of Grove City High School. Donation is $5, which includes dessert and beverage. All proceeds will go toward Operation Smile, a service that provides surgery for children worldwide that are born with cleft mouth. • The Brookfield United Methodist Church, 6951 Grove St., Brookfield, holds an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Menu includes spaghetti and meatballs, salad bar, bread and butter, beverage and homemade dessert. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children ages 6 to 12. Takeouts available beginning at 3:30 p.m.
• American Business Women’s Association Greenville Torchbearer Chapter will hold marathon bingo Wednesday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 170 Clarksville St., Greenville. • Hubbard Christians In Action holds Lenten luncheons and services at Central Christian Church at noon on Wednesdays now through April 1. The cost is $6. This week’s luncheon will be chicken and biscuits, mashed potatoes, green beans and assorted cakes. Rev. Thomas Fish will be the featured speaker.
• Jamestown All Sports Boosters and the Jamestown Little League are teaming up to host a reverse raffle on April 4 at the Jamestown Lion’s Community Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. Cost is $20. To reserve tickets, call Dawn Richter, 814-282-4300.
• A variety of crafted quilts will be on display at Wilmington Township Mercer County, Municipal Building, 35 Auction Road, New Wilmington, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Some quilts for sale will be included in the display. The quilters have a beautiful Rubik’s Cube quilt to be raffled.

• Grandparent Support Group Second Time Around holds family and friends CPR anytime from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Minority Health Center, 211 Federal St., Farrell. Gary Jamison, registered nurse and nurse consultant with the Pennsylvania Department of Health, is facilitator. The group is sponsored by Minority Health, funded by Sharon/Farrell Weed & Seed. • Mercer County Family Center is offering a Character Day with the costumed character “Corduroy” for families with children ages birth to 5 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Stey-Nevant Library, Farrell; 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Greenville Public Library, Greenville; and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Musser Elementary School, Sharon.
Enjoy crafts, snack, story-time, parent-child activities and a visit from Corduroy. Every family attending will receive a free book. The event is free and open to the public.
