Fundraisers



• Shenango Valley YMCA is hosting its third annual Car Show in memory of Paul S. Ghirardi from noon to 4 p.m. July 13 at the Y, 925 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage.

Contestants may register in advance for $8 at the Y before Monday or for $10 the day of the show. Registration will be held from 9 a.m. to noon July 13.

There will be 18 different car classes with trophies for the top three cars in each class. Dash plaques and goody bags will be given to the first 100 cars.

Admission is free for spectators. Disc jockey Mike Hammond will be spinning the oldies.

Food, refreshments, T-shirts, and raffle tickets will be sold for a chance auction. Door prizes will be available for participants and special Shenango Valley YMCA membership rates will be available.

• Vincent United Methodist Church, Walnut Street, Jackson Center, is having a buffet dinner beginning at noon July 13.

Buffet includes baked ham, chicken, roast beef, parsley-buttered potatoes, vegetables, assorted pasta dishes, desserts and beverages.

Cost is $9 for adults and $3.50 for children younger than 12.

Reunions



• Wilmington High School class of 1988 will hold its 20th class reunion July 19.

• The annual Jackson Center Borough and Jackson Township Country Schools reunion will begin at 1 p.m. July 27 at the Jackson Center Community Park Pavilion, along Route U.S. 62 in the middle of town.

Former students, teachers and guests are asked to take a tureen and their own table service for the picnic. Beverages will be provided.

Along with the borough school, township schools were: Jones, Cass Ridge, Paoli, Hazzard and Hodge.

• Notices have been sent for the annual Evans and Brooks family reunion, which will begin at 6 p.m. July 18 at the Comfort Inn. On July 19 a family picnic will be from noon to 4 p.m. at Chestnut Run Swim Beach. A catered buffet is set for 1 p.m., followed by bingo at 1:30 and volleyball, baseball and prizes throughout the day. From 6 to 10 p.m. there will be alley bowling in Sharpsville. On July 20 the reunion closing will be at the 11 a.m. service at Greater Mount Zion Church of Gold.

Cost is $30 per family. Hotel reservations must be made. Dues paid on time will receive prizes.

• Hickory High School class of 1945 will hold its 63rd class reunion at noon Aug. 12 at the Hickory Veterans of Foreign Wars, Hermitage.

All classmates and spouses are welcome.

Meeting



• Mercer C.B.A. Retirees meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Applebee’s Restaurant, 201 S. Hermitage Road, Hermitage.

Picnics



• GTI annual picnic is set for 1 p.m. July 19 at Perry Community Park.

Take a covered dish and table service. Coffee and cold drinks, sloppy joes and buns will be provided.

• Juniper Village at the Shenango Inn, 1330 Kimberly Road, Sharon, is having a red, white and blue picnic from noon to 3 p.m. today.

Come share and celebrate American freedom and independence with a traditional picnic on the lawn.

Food, fun and fireworks will be provided, as well as quality time with friends and family.
