WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA, EASTERN OHIO —
Manufacturers, educaters and training providers throughout the five-counties of the Oh-Penn Interstate Region will hold events as part of the national Manufacturing Month initiative.
Events will highlight the importance of manufacturing and the rewarding high-skill jobs available in manufacturing fields.
Scheduled are:
• The Fourth Annual Business & Industry Career Fair will take place at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in New Castle on Oct. 24. More than 1,000 10th-grade students from Lawrence and Mercer counties are invited to attend this annual event. Jeremy Bout, producer of The Edge Factor Show, will serve as this year’s keynote speaker.
• The Columbiana County Career & Technical Center will hold an open house Oct. 20, from noon to 3 p.m. in Lisbon, Ohio.
• The Lawrence County Career & Technical Center will hold an open house on Oct. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. in New Castle.
• The Mercer County Career Center will hold an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 8 in Coolspring Township.
• The Best Robotics Warp XX Competition will be held Oct. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Grove City College. Students are tasked with building a working robot and creating a marketing presentation and engineering notebook on their project.
Oh-Penn is the first officially-designated interstate region in the country and is comprised of Mercer, Lawrence, Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties.
