The family of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Griffin, formerly of Sharon, renewed their vows in Mercer United Methodist Church, in honor of the anniversary of the couple, who are now deceased. The gala also marked the anniversaries of their daughter, the late Erma and her husband Frank Baker, who were married Oct. 22, 1953; their son, Cecil Griffin and his wife Joan, Sharon, who were married Oct. 22, 1954; and their granddaughter, Laurel and her husband Ed Lindy, Mercer, who were married Oct. 22, 1980.
Roy and the former Mildred Allen were married on Saturday, Oct. 22, 1927, in the parsonage of the church by the Rev. John F. Black.
Those renewing their vows were their children, Leo Griffin and his wife Olivia, Sharon; Doris and her husband Bill Steiner, Sharpsville; and Elaine and her husband Ron Parry, Sharon. They continued the celebration at a dinner in The Tara in Clark.
