Mr. and Mrs. John Hummel II

Hummels celebrate 65th

Mr. and Mrs. John Hummel II of Grove City will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary.

The former Marjorie J. Freeman from Oil City and John were married Dec. 8, 1943 in Oil City by the Rev. A.J. Kimmel of First Evangelical Church.

Mrs. Hummel retired after 20 years from the Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV in Grove City.

Mr. Hummel retired from teaching and coaching after 35 years. He spent the first seven years in Mercer Area School District and 28 years in Grove City Area School District.

They have four children: John Hummel III and his wife, Pam of Kennerdell; David Hummel and his wife, Michelle of Grove City; Debi Hummel of Grove City; and Sue Townsen of Punta Gorda, Fla.

Five grandsons –– Dan Hummel and his wife, Dini, Omaha, Neb.; David Struble, Grove City; Tim Hummel, Kennerdell; Thomas Hummel, Grove City; and Grant Townsend, Punta Gorda –– complete the family.

The couple formerly resided in Sharon for 40 years and now live in a nice country setting in Lackawanna Township.
